On June 19, Marta González-Llera, Real Estate partner at Cases & Lacambra, participated in the conference on urban simplification in Lisbon, organized by CCA Law Firm, with the support of the Portuguese Association of Real Estate Developers and Investors.
During the debate, it was possible to observe the different positions of the current Portuguese government which, within the scope of the More Housing program, has promoted measures to simplify the procedures for the granting of urban planning licenses, requesting legislative authorization from the Portuguese parliament.
Among the topics addressed, they discussed the effectiveness of the new measures to combat lengthy urban planning licensing processes; the advantages and disadvantages of this attempt to simplify the procedure; what has gone wrong and what should have been foreseen; the evolution of the licensing process in Spain with a view to its simplification; the impact of the approval in Spain of the DRU (Declaraciones Responsables Urbanísticas); the “Plan Vive” in force in Madrid; or the comparison with some measures of the “Más Vivienda” (More Housing) package.
