Cases&Lacambra appoints two new partners as of 1 July: Fabio Virzi as partner of the Litigation and Arbitration group in Spain, and Laura Nieto as partner of the Financial Markets and Services practice group in Andorra. The Firm also appoints Araceli Leyva as the new general secretary of the Firm with full delegated executive functions.
Laura Nieto will be a new partner in the Financial Markets and Services practice group in Andorra. She joined the Firm in 2015 and specialises in banking and financial regulation. She has extensive experience advising credit institutions and investment services companies on transactional and regulatory matters. She leads projects related to compliance with AML, market abuse (MAR), investor protection (MiFID), data protection and CRDIV-CRR regulations, including corporate governance, solvency and capital requirements. Prior to joining Cases&Lacambra, she held different responsibilities in entities such as Crèdit Andorrà, Caja de Ingenieros and CatalunyaCaixa.
Fabio Virzi will be a partner in the Firm’s Litigation and Arbitration practice based in Madrid. With more than 13 years of professional experience, he specialises in civil and commercial litigation and has extensive experience in matters related to obligations and contracts, non-contractual liability, unfair competition and directors’ liability, as well as litigation involving the construction and insurance sectors. The new partner is an expert in the field of national and international arbitration and has spent part of his professional career in the litigation departments of Uría Menéndez, Garrigues, Ontier and PwC.
These promotions are part of the internal promotion policy within the Firm’s growth strategy, whose fundamental pillar is its commitment to the talent and excellence of its professionals.
In addition, the Firm has appointed Araceli Leyva, current of counsel, as the new general secretary of the Firm, with full delegated executive functions. With more than 30 years of experience and an extensive professional career with responsibilities in different companies in the financial and banking sector, she is a specialist in corporate governance and a reference in financial and treasury operations. During her professional career she held different positions of responsibility in entities such as Banco Español de Crédito (Banesto), Cecabank and the Spanish Confederation of Savings Banks. She is member of the Madrid Arbitration Tribunal and acts regularly as an arbitrator in banking and finance and other cases.
