| Conference | June 2017 | Barcelona|
Cases & Lacambra organized a breakfast meeting under the title “The rise of arbitration: open dialogue between its protagonists”. The conference was organized this meeting with the collaboration of ESADE, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) as well as the Spanish Arbitration Club (CEA).
The use of arbitration as a means of alternative dispute resolution to local courts is experiencing a significant increase in recent times. The speed, confidentiality, the specialty, the flexibility and the fact of being able to respond to litigations of marked international character are some of the reasons that explain their success.
The breakfast meeting held in Barcelona and brought together protagonists of the arbitration proceedings: in-house lawyers, law firms, arbitrators and arbitration institutions, to propose an open and transparent dialogue on arbitration, with special emphasis on the perceptions of different actors depending on the different roles they play.
The purpose of breakfast is to encourage joint reflection on the keys to increasing the use of arbitration as a means of resolving disputes, and their future prospects.
