| News | April 2024 |Cases & Lacambra strengthens its White Collar practice with Oscar Morales|

Oscar Morales, who was responsible for the White Collar practice at Uría Menéndez in Barcelona for almost two decades, is the strategic recruit to open the firm’s White Collar, Internal Investigations, and Regulatory Enforcement practice. Morales, who in the past two years has contributed to the growth of a boutique criminal law firm, thus returns to white-collar criminal law, a field in which he has specialized throughout his career. He is joined by two young lawyers, Caroline Rymer and Ángel Pinel, whose specialized training he has directed in recent years.

The decision is driven by the firm’s vision to deepen its practice in fraud, financial crimes and asset recovery, as well as supporting its institutional clients in criminal compliance, areas of extreme complexity that require strong specialization, a hallmark of the firm’s identity.

Our clients, many of them international and institutional, have a structural and economic complexity that requires us to be attentive to all their needs, including preventive advice, the development of compliance models, and, when necessary, advice on litigation” say Cases & Lacambra. They add: “It is not only important to advise our clients on prevention and defend them, but we must also use all legitimate means to defend their interests, especially in cases of asset recovery arising from fraud and corruption.”

For the firm, the appointment of Oscar Morales, PhD in Law and Professor of Criminal Law, is a firm commitment to quality and excellence, as well as a move to strengthen its international profile with the ability to address multijurisdictional issues. “Clients and colleagues agree that Oscar is a reference in white-collar criminal law, a recognition that has also been acknowledged by major directories such as Chambers & Partners, where he has been listed as a recommended lawyer for the past seventeen years.
