José Piñeiro is a partner at Cases Lacambra in Spain. He represents clients before Spanish courts, in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, and in mediation processes. José specializes in contractual matters, non-contractual civil liability, damages arising from competition law infringements, unfair competition, insurance, agency and distribution agreements, and shareholder disputes. With regard to sector experience, he has broad expertise in the financial sector, representing national and international institutions; as well as in sports and entertainment, insurance, construction, and M&A transactions. In addition to his professional practice, he has an extensive academic background. He has been a professor in the Civil Law Department at Universitat Pompeu Fabra since 2008. He has also taught in various programs related to sports law and has been a faculty member of the Master’s Degree in Sports Management at the Barcelona School of Management (UPF) since 2009. He is also a regular speaker at seminars and conferences within his practice areas and has published numerous works, both as author and co-author, in his field of expertise.
