The international Legal 500 directory, which analyses in detail the business law sector in Spain, has just published its research for 2020 and places the Firm, once again, among the best in Banking&Finance and Real Estate and, for the first time, recognises the Tax team as one of the most outstanding in Spain.
In this sense, the Firm strengthens its Tax practice, which is included for the first time in Band 5, and maintains its position in Band 5 and Band 7 in Real Estate and Financial, respectively.
In addition, the international analyst highlights the work of the partners responsible for the practices, Daniel Tienda¸ in Real Estate, and Miguel Cases and Toni Barios, in Finance, as well as Ernesto Lacambra, in Tax.
In particular, the analyst highlights:
- Banking&Finance: “Experienced in funds and acting primarily on the lender side, Cases&Lacambra is a ‘true boutique of banking and finance law’ and is known for advice on real estate financing. The Firm is particularly adept in multi-jurisdictional issues, advising foreign investors in a range of financing transaction. Managing partner Miguel Cases specialises in representing credit institutions and investment services firms, as well as in regulation related to the field. He co-leads the team with Toni Barios, who focuses on financing and debt restructuring”.
- Real Estate: “Cases&Lacambra is known for its ‘market knowledge, efficiency and solution-driven approach’, as well as its ‘complete alignment with clients’. The Firm focuses on transactional matters, advising foreign investors on acquisitions, sales and urban planning matters. The practice also has expertise in licensing and planning. - Tax: “Cases&Lacambra’s tax team, which is praised as ‘international in outlook’, ‘co-operative’ and ‘proactive’, has a particular focus on private clients and family businesses. A distinguishing feature is the Firm’s focus on advising high-net-worth individuals from the Middle East and Latin America, thanks to its expertise in cross-border tax work as well as the Spanish tax landscape. Team head Ernesto Lacambra also lends his ‘great business acumen’ to high-value multi-jurisdictional tax work in the financial and real estate sectors”.
Thus, Cases&Lacambra has three of its teams recognized by this directory. “Being recognized by The Legal 500 strengthens the effort and commitment of our teams, and is also the result of the work done in recent months, highlighting that we do technical and quality work that is recognized by the market,” said Miguel Cases and Ernesto Lacambra, managing partners of the Firm.
